1. What the offer is
Plugg Local is a network of independent coffee shops that give verified Plugg members a discount on drinks. At participating shops:
- Thursdays: standard hot drinks and cold drinks are £2.00 each.
- Every other day: 20% off drinks.
The offer is provided and funded by each participating shop, not by Plugg. Plugg Limited ("Plugg", "we") runs the app that lists the shops and lets you redeem.
2. Who can use it
- You need a Plugg account that has completed age and identity verification. Unverified accounts can see the offer but cannot redeem.
- The offer is for your own drink. You cannot redeem on behalf of other people, and you cannot redeem multiple times for a group.
- Your account is personal. Sharing your login or letting someone else redeem on your phone is a breach of the Plugg Terms of Use and may lead to your account being suspended.
3. How to redeem
- Find a participating shop on the Nearby map or in the Coffee list in the app.
- Order at the till. When you're ready to pay, open the shop's deal screen.
- Swipe the redemption bar in front of the barista. The screen will change to a live "redeemed" state with the time. That is what the barista is checking for.
- The barista applies the Thursday price or the 20% discount.
Important: swiping is the redemption. Once you swipe, you've used your redemption at that shop for the day, whether or not you go on to buy. Don't swipe before you're at the till. Screenshots, photos of the screen, or an unswiped screen are not valid and the shop can refuse them.
4. Limits and exclusions
- One redemption per member, per participating shop, per day. You can redeem at more than one shop on the same day.
- Drinks only. Food, beans, merchandise and retail items are full price.
- "Standard" drinks means the shop's regular menu drinks in regular sizes. Individual shops may exclude specific drinks, sizes or add-ons (for example alternative milks or specialty pours). Any exclusions are shown on that shop's page in the app; check before you order.
- The offer can't be combined with other discounts, vouchers or loyalty stamps unless the shop chooses to allow it.
- Thursday pricing runs during the shop's opening hours on Thursdays, UK time.
- Shops set their own menus and prices for everything the offer doesn't cover.
5. Shops can join and leave
Participating shops can leave Plugg Local with notice, and we may add, pause or remove shops at any time. Always check the app on the day; if a shop no longer appears with the coffee offer, it is no longer participating. A shop may also be temporarily closed or unable to honour the offer (for example if it has run out of stock or has a technical problem). We will do our best to keep listings current but we can't guarantee any particular shop will be available.
6. Your data
When you redeem, Plugg records the shop, date and time against your account so the daily limit works and so we can show you your history. Plugg never shares your name, contact details or any other personal data with shops. Shops only receive aggregated, anonymised insights (for example, how many redemptions they had in a week). 7. Fair use
We may suspend or withdraw access to Plugg Local from any account we reasonably believe is misusing the offer, including redeeming for others, attempting to reuse or fake a redemption screen, or behaving abusively towards shop staff. Shops may refuse service in line with their normal policies and the law.
8. Changes to the offer
We may change the offer (including the day, the prices and the percentage), add or remove shops or cities, or end Plugg Local, at any time. Where a change reduces the offer we'll tell you in the app at least 7 days before it takes effect where reasonably possible. The offer terms shown in the app on the day you redeem are the ones that apply.
9. Plugg's role and liability
Plugg lists the shops and provides the redemption tool. The drink, the price charged and the service you receive are the shop's responsibility, not ours. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer against the shop or against us. We are not liable for a shop declining to honour the offer, but we do want to know about it: report it in the app or email hello@plugg.in and we'll follow up with the shop.
10. General
These offer terms sit alongside the Plugg Terms of Use and Privacy Notice, which continue to apply. If they conflict, these offer terms apply to the Plugg Local offer only. Plugg Limited is a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16645551). These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
